Bittersweet

This morning we are headed to Orlando for the funeral of a family friend... as long as I've known this family we'd been praying for her salvation. In January she came to know the Lord, on the day she was given 6 months to live because of cancer.

So if you have those people that you've been praying for, over and over again... I encourage you to keep at it! God has amazing timing and he answers our prayers... sometimes quickly and sometimes after A LOOOONG LOOOONG TIME! :) Either way it's worth the perseverance!

Blessed beyond belief! (cont.3)

Blessed beyond belief! (cont.)

Best Friends, even though we live so far away from each other... my love and gratefulness grows for each of you still. I hope you know how much I appreciate each of you in your own unique way. Nothing could ever change that! Thank you for being there for me and putting up with me even when we don't have time to talk to each other. I pray for each of you daily! :)

Well, after Danyelle's wedding we headed back to Pilot Point where all the girls were showing up from after Rachel's wedding... we just lounged around that night and ate brisket with my family. The next morning was Sunday and I got up and headed to church with my family while the girls slept in... (they all had long drives to make after the shower!)

Church was really good, it's so nice to see everyone and to hear my Pastor speak. The music was awesome, I'm really digging the new Music Pastor they hired! I hope that Park Street continues to progress and reach that next level of outreach to the younger generation. I know that although the road there is rough, the outcome is incomparable!

After church I mingled with everyone of course and then headed home with Bailee... we had some more tasty brisket that my Daddy made for lunch and then the girls and I went outside for a photo shoot! lol We haven't had a good one in a long time but it was a lot of fun besides the ants! :) My favorite of the pictures is above! :)

When we were all done, people started showing up for Avery's shower... I'm seriously in awe of the amount of people that came. When the shower first started I was very emotional... no not just because of pregnancy... BUT, when you live far away from home like I do... I think sometimes you get it into your head that you don't have that many people that care or are close to you... but with everyone that showed up it proved to me that people still cared and that meant the world to me. I bawled like a baby! Avery got so many cute outfits and needed items off of the registry, not to mention the cash and gift cards that I'll be able to use after the shower here when I know what I still need! :) God is so good and I never doubted that he'd provide for us but AGAIN, it's overwhelming when it all comes together and you realize that he did provide and that faith you had just grew a million times! :)

Blessed beyond belief!

Well as most of you know, this past week I was fortunate enough to make my last trip to Texas before Avery is born. I arrived on Wednesday around noon. My daddy picked me up from the airport and we went and ate some tasty Mexican food at CozyMels in Grapevine! It was nice getting to just hang out with my Dad for a change. We had a good time and had many laughs of course as well! :) If any of you know my Dad... you know he definitely can make you laugh, well nothing's changed! ha ha! From CozyMels we drove to McKinney to see my Granny at one of her offices. After that I left Dad and drove to PP to pick up Bailee from school and to go see mommy at her school! :) It's so refreshing to see family and people that know you... no fronts or feelings of apprehension, everything's just normal! I love that! We went home to rest a while and of course they wanted to feel Avery moving and she was as always going nuts so Mom was able to feel her.

That night Mom decided we were going to go to the Denton Civic Center's Annual Children's Consignment Sale... HOLY CRAP... THERE WAS SOOO MUCH STUFF!!! We were there for at least 2 hours just looking at everything... Mom and Bailee picked out about a billion outfits which they did BUY for our little Avery lol... I'm spoiled and yes this child will definitely be WAY more spoiled. It's so funny to see how excited Mom, Dad, and Bailee all were...It makes it all so real! After that we went to Fuddruckers for dinner with Ricky and his girlfriend. It was tasty as well! :)

The next day, we slept in a bit because of the late night we had. Then we got up and got ready and headed for OF COURSE... FRISCO for a day of shopping! Mom and Bailee both skipped school so we could have a day of hanging out just the three of us! :) We went all over the place... Mardels, Children's Boutique shops, Ross, TJMAXX, SUPER Target, Hobby Lobby, Stonebriar Mall, Lowes, and we even ate at my favorite pizza place; Mr. Gattis!! (childhood obsession)

Friday morning we all got up early and I took mom and Bailee to school and headed to Fort Worth for a day with my girlfriends and preparation for Rachel's wedding! When I first got there Kim and I headed to meet up with Cayton and his wife, Alex... it's so good to see old friends... although we've all changed, we haven't changed too much! :) The rest of the day was spent getting the reception hall ready just as Rachel had so intricately planned! That night we had the rehearsal and dinner at the church then had Rachel's lingerie shower... she got some really cute and comfy things! :)

Saturday was Rachel's wedding, I ended up helping a good bit with hair and makeup which is my favorite thing to do! Everyone looked so beautiful as always ESPECIALLY Rachel! Her hair and dress were absolutely perfect fitting to a T for the wedding she had planned. Everything went perfectly in my mind... it was a precious wedding and I think everyone enjoyed it! :) Immediately after the wedding I had to haul booty to Denison which is about 2 hours away from Fort Worth.

I thought that Danyelle's wedding started at 5:30 and that I was doing good on time but turns out, it started at 5 and I was about 10 minutes late! :( I missed her walking in but regardless she looked astonishing! She's so natural and the wedding was so simple yet sooo perfect. The wedding was totally centered on God and the way he had united them together as one... there were praise and worship songs and they even had a congregational song for us to sing, "How Deep the Father's Love for Us." I'm pretty sure I cried through the entire thing! I've known Danyelle since she was 2 or 3... so to see this little girl that I'd been "sisters" with forever, all grown up and getting married was just super emotional, not to mention me being pregnant! ha ha!

Ok this is all I have time for right now, I will finish the rest of my trip later on... :)

Ye have little faith!

When I found out that I was pregnant I was totally shocked and beyond belief excited! Because this pregnancy was a surprise to us I knew a lot of things were going to be changing... and my have they ever changed...

My boss is also pregnant and due a couple of weeks after me, because of this I am losing my job. Sometimes when things happen like this we think the world's going to end... and I'm not going to lie, with a baby on the way and no job on my behalf this definitely did scare me. Sheldon and I have continually prayed about it since then though and God has been working huge in our life!

I can't help but to be excited with all of the change, after all... why would God send us a child as well as take my job away if he didn't have something amazing for our future! After we approached the future with this mindset, things have been totally falling into place. I have a couple of job opportunities that are still possible and in the works... but the other night Sheldon and I worked out a budget and cut some un-needed things in the process and figured out that if I can't get a job I will be able to be a stay at home mom! This is such a huge relief! :) Which means the money we are saving for Avery's birth and for me being off work will not have to be touched except for the money for her birth! :) INCREDIBLE!

Avery being our first child... we are starting out with pretty much nothing, and because she was a surprise we were also not prepared for her! :) We are pretty much crossing our fingers and praying that we get everything we need from the baby showers! Kinda insane! But now even before the baby showers we have received soo much from friends and family already! Hand me down clothes that are seriously like brand new, random toys and books, and just yesterday a lady in our FPU class offered me an only used twice MEDELA PUMP lol... some of you may not know but I'm pretty sure this is the best breast pump anyone can buy and now I'm able to take it off my registry! GOD IS SO GOOD because there's no way we'd be able to afford this on our own! :)

A lot of the time we know God will take care and provide for us yet we are still so shocked when it all pans out in the end. I can't imagine life without Him and I can only hope and pray that my daughter will one day know the peace that only he brings.
